When my daughter asked if she could have a dog of her own, Howard and I were very apprehensive. We were finally starting to feel like we could make time for each other again, something we've had very little of since we married at age 21, and had our children. Instead of giving you the day-by day-reports of Melly in Aspen, here are a few of the highlights.

Swiller decided that we all should get a little high from mother earth, and we did — a super cold, wet, and intense high, care of Blazing Adventures.

After the 45-minute bus ride, in which we made friends with the other adventure seekers, we were dropped off next to a port-a-potty on the side of the road next to the Roaring Fork river.

When my husband and I were asked to go on vacation to Colorado as a guest of our good friends the Swillers, how could we say no?

Last week was filled with good memories and a lot of REALITY. After landing in Denver with the guys, we still had a three hour drive to Aspen ahead of us. Swiller was the designated driver of the upgraded rental car, an Escalade. I guess Swilly figured that, since I (the JAPrincess of the bunch) was on board, it would be important to have a vehicle that gave me and the guys some room.

This painting — a wedding present from my parents — was done by an artist who met me and Howard only two times at my parent's home. I would love to give the artist credit, but after he painted several originals for my family... well... Lets just say that he's not the most honest business man.

How do I tell at this point in my life if someone or something is real or not? How do I distinguish what is Counterfeit?

I use the only tool I have that doesn't cost $$$$$$ — my instincts.

Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a model? Instead of boring you with a long story, I will be as brief as I CAN.

I have modeled clothes for designers and done that fake (I am too sexy for my shoes) deal: Knollwood Mall in the '80s. So, it wasn't Fashion Week in New York... It was still fun to walk the runway with a guy that had to wear a Boy Scout outfit to match my Girl Scout outfit. Why? Because I—at the time—had a huge crush on him.

In a previous blog I said that I would share with you some pictures from my Mexican Cruise when I receive them.

Well, to be honest, I was given them a few weeks ago but was hesitant to share them.

After going back and forth with what I should do with this one photo, I realized that if a woman is willing to get naked in front of a SHIP-load of people, then who am I to not share the picture that she obviously wanted people to see.

So here is a photo that will delight anyone who has appreciation for a woman with a great body who doesn't care who sees it.

Well, I am back from my cruise on the Mexican Riveria with my in-laws, and this vacation made my Top 5 for A LOT of reasons: beautiful weather, zip lining, and not one fight. Ok, well, maybe just ONE...

I was a little nervous about going on this trip, because I had already decided — after "enjoying" a visit now and then to a casino — that it is in my best interest not to gamble. The first night at sea, there it was: THE CASINO, through which I had to travel for all my family meals. I knew I was in trouble!

Well, everybody, there is a lot going on right now. Times are... changing.

I am feeling guilt and sadness as the many writers who have worked so
hard are out of their jobs, and yet my gut tells me that Mr. Bartel made a very bold and smart business move. So you can either sit on your butt and complain about everything, OR you can accept change and move forward.

I for one think that to have one day to tell the people you care about how much you love them is nothing more than an opportunity for stores to raise the price of flowers and chocolates to make up for the 364 other days when we don't give our loved ones a special something to brighten up their day.

Don't get me wrong; I think having a day dedicated to Love is a great idea, but I believe that telling the people in your life how much you care about them should not just fall on Valentine's Day.

I watched the Grammy Awards last night, but it wasn't Amy Winehouse nor Kanye West I wanted to see perform. My heart belongs to Morris Day and The Time, whose performance I eagerly awaited. I mean, how much fun was it watching Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Jerome Benton, Morris Day, Jesse Johnson, and the rest of the original Time group perform, just like they did 20 years ago, with the same energy and infectious smiles they have always had?

Since I spent one third of my life at a Figure Skating Rink, wearing skating costumes that were so small underwear was NOT an option... I figure it's time for me to come clean on what I think of the sport.

When I was 15, I discovered that my opportunity to live a normal teenage life, with sleepovers and spin-the-bottle games with boys, would conflict with my six-day-a-week skating practices. It was then that I knew the time had come. It was time to say goodbye to a sport that had taught me perseverance, determination, and that jealousy really is the root of all evil.

When Todd Fisher first told me that Hubbard Broadcasting was going to launch a new talk-radio format.... I was elated! Finally, a well-respected family-owned business was going to put their money into a venture ridiculed by so many people in the world of broadcasting. Guess who's laughing now... Well, at about 6:45 p.m. on Saturday night, in the midst of a classic Seinfeld, my husband and I got out of our warm cocoon to get ready for the night — a holiday soirée for the Franconia Sculpture Park, hosted at Abitaré Design Studio.
