This is the worst kind of self-indulgent, selfish, self-centered whining. This guy is guilty because he accepts the situation as it is. He obviously believes that ordination is the greatest of all sacraments. Before it, a man knows nothing, is a moron, has no right to speak, and should “love” priests, who, after ordination immediately have all knowledge, all wisdom, all power, and their shit don’t stink.
The point is the cover up. It is true that only about 3% of the clergy have sex with young men, under the legal age. (But imagine what would happen to a corporate executive, who kept transferring managers who molested underage folk.) It is true that a lot of the young men probably
enjoyed the whole thing and only later decided to sue for money. But not all! Some must have been very wounded by priestly molestation.
It’s the cover up, stupid! Roman Catholic bishops don’t care about the victims; they have only contempt for lay persons. They just steal billions from the collection plates to pay off the victims, so as to prevent anyone finding out what a lousy job they are doing im managing priests.
By tolerating the present bishops, by staying under their “jurisdiction,” instead of devoting his life to removing them from office as bishops and as priests, this priest has made himself their accomplice. And he has the chutzpah to whine like a little baby! He’s disgusting!
